A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
