🔗 Share this article Vinted Members Voice Displeasure About Size Modifications Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has updated its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Digital Channels Reaction Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with other platforms. The platform has recommended to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Modifications Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Accounts A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, located in Scotland, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she said. Required Changes A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she stated. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options after backlash from users.
